I was born and raised in the heart of Bangkok where I grew up attending an international school and spending my summers in Minnesota. Growing up internationally in a cross cultural environment has helped me see the world with a wider lens. My interest in building sustainable cities, predominately in developing countries, extended from my upbringing in Bangkok. I have seen the impacts of continual construction and development, and poor environmental policy regulation and enforcement, on the livelihoods of Bangkok's residents.

"My travel experiences have enabled me to see the consequences of our rapidly developing world and the importance of  sustainability on a local, regional and global scale. My passion for art and design has grown alongside my interest in environmental science, as my studio classes have helped me realize how design has the ability to influence and shape our individual and social choices, behaviours and actions. This has encouraged me to explore the study of architecture and green design."

My mission is to spend my lifetime learning  about ways we can promote and implement green and sustainable design, predominately in urban environments in developing countries. My vision is to pursue a graduate degree in the fields of either architecture, urban design or environmental design. My post-undergraduate goal is to explore these interests by acquiring professional experience.

I enrolled in an Architecture Foundations course with DIS in Copenhagen, Denmark. The city became our classroom as we studied the city's renowned buildings and public spaces to inspire our personal project to design a urban pavilion. The abundance of public parks and community spaces, biking lanes, and cultural spaces displayed an example for what a sustainable city could look like.

Feel free to visit my visual journal that displays my ongoing architectural drawing and design work, which has been inspired by my time in Copenhagen.

I was the co-leader NIST International school's service project, which raised awareness and funding to support the Peace Matunda school and orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania. I helped organize two trips (2012, 2013) to Arusha  to work on-site in classrooms, assess facility and program needs, and disburse funds. I helped create a scholarship program for the poorest in surrounding communities and our service group had the opportunity to visit village communities to select scholarship candidates.

Wildlife ACT is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting South Africa's endangered wildlife from extinction. I participated in Wildlife ACT’s conservation work by serving as a volunteer to collect and analyze daily data on animal location, health, and behaviour. In Namibia where I took action to raise awareness and funds towards Rhino conservation, and in Zululand, South Africa where I volunteered as a reserve monitor, I learnt about the importance of animal conservation not only to the natural ecosystems, but also to the local livelihoods that rely on the wildlife for their cultural, social and economic value.

Environmental Science spring semester off-campus study
2016

I traveled with a group of St. Olaf Biology and Environmental Science students to study Terrestrial Ecology, Marine Biology (Great Barrier Reef), Environmental Policy and Cultural Anthropology throughout the Eastern Cape of Australia. During this semester we studied a variety of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, along with ecological adaptation, and practiced gathering hands-on qualitative and quantitative data to support research.
